Ed Morrissey began blogging five years ago at Captain's Quarters. At first, he maintained his site as a hobby, continuing his work as a call-center manager for a Minnesota firm. His series on the Canadian Adscam scandal garnered international attention in 2005. Blog Talk Radio hired Morrissey as its first political director in 2007, organizing conservative bloggers into its Heading Right channel. In 2008, Michelle Malkin hired Morrissey to blog full time at Hot Air about electoral politics, national policy, foreign affairs and conservative themes. He also produces a daily video talk show, The Ed Morrissey Show, in partnership with Ustream. Morrissey lives in Minnesota with his wife Marcia, known to readers as the First Mate, his son and daughter-in-law, and his granddaughter.
